We had voted to buy a food box and some needed supplies for a hospice patient and a needy child this year. Terry Jackson contacted the Hospice Home Care and had received 2 names. With the success of our fund raiser this year we have decided to help these two and a child. An eight year old boy being raised by his great grandmother with very limited income has been chosen. Several of the ladies have volunteered to pick up the needed items for these. Paulette, Beverly and Karen are getting these together. Helen will be picking up items in McGehee. If anyone would like to help out please send an email or contact someone.

The plan is to deliver these on Saturday December 17th. If the weather permits we plan to ride our motorcycles on these deliveries. Currently we plan to meet at Ray's in Monticello at 1 pm, ride to McGehee for a delivery then down to Wilmot.

Mr. Will McMahon's ticket was drawn for the Trio Grill. Don Wesson presented the grill to Mr. McMahon in McGehee.

I would like to congratulate Mr. McMahon on being the winner of this very nice grill. I would also like to give a very heart felt "THANK YOU" to everyone that helped support our fundraiser this year. Your donations will be used in a very worthy cause. Please check our web site often, I will be posting pictures of our efforts this coming Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Season.

Arkansas Fallen Riders Association "Bikers Memorial Service", July 2nd 2011

The Arkansas Fallen Riders Association in Jefferson County would like to extend an invitation to our fellow riders in the surrounding counties to join us on Saturday, July 2nd, for a biker’s Memorial service. AFRA will host a memorial service for five of our fellow riders who passed away during the last six months. The service will be held in the Watson Chapel Baptist Church Christian Life Center, 5514 Pinnacle Lane, Pine Bluff.

We will honor these riders and pay our respects to the families in attendance. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. We will start serving our monthly breakfast at 9:15 a.m. The memorial service will start at 10:10a.m.

We will meet the fallen riders through their families during this ceremony. Afterward, we will have our memorial ride to Cedar Branch Cemetery in Grant County where our Memorial Cross and Stone are placed. We will have a ceremony by the memorial and place the names of all five on the Memorial Cross. All bikers are welcome, and the public is cordially invited to attend. We will have memorial tee shirts available also. $15.00 ea. See attachment

The Arkansas Fallen Riders Association was created to sustain a “Fallen Riders Fund” for riders or family members of riders who have gone down. In past, this fund has helped numerous riders not only in our area but riders from other states that had the misfortune of going down in our county. Bikers help bikers! There is no charge for the breakfast, but donations are accepted. You will have the opportunity to learn about the Arkansas Fallen Riders Association - how and why we are here to help you, the rider. We are a non-profit, tax deductible, charitable association.

The breakfast will be prepared by the bikers and all area motorcyclists, novice or seasoned, are invited to attend. The breakfast will also be a place for all riders to meet other riders and learn about their groups and group rides in a very friendly atmosphere.

It's Time To Ride

ABATE District 18 Friday Dinner Rides will start April 15th. We meet at the E-Z Mart beside Topps Pizza in Monticello at 6 pm. When the group arrives we decide where we want to eat that evening. Kick stands up at 6:30 for a wonderful ride and great fellowship and good food. We meet each month the second Friday after the first Thursday. Confusing aint it..Next ride will be May 13th, then June 10th, July 15th, Aug 12th, Sept 9th--this one is for the ones that don't go to Hot Springs Rally

We are a Motorcycle Rights Organization who actively lobbies our elected officials on all levels with issues pertaining to Motorcycle rights. We provide many different things to our membership throughout the year, including entertainment, toy runs and community service projects along with numerous rides and runs all over our fine state of Arkansas.
